The Financial Collapse
I've been learning so much about the current financial mess we're in. It's a fascinating topic because it's so multi-faceted. Here are some neat resources I've learned from:
Origins of the Financial Mess - a video lecture by economist Alan Blinder. He walks us through the major players and their mistakes which led to the collapse.
The Crisis of Credit Visualized - an awesome video which graphically (and succinctly) explains what went wrong and why it's so hard to fix.
Not online yet, but the current issue of Wired magazine has some fascinating stories about the mathematical formula which caused the financial crisis and a simple (relatively) solution to prevent problems like this in the future--standardize all financial reports and make them 100% open to the public.
