Capri Goes to Preschool!
Today was Capri's first day of preschool. She LOOKS like she is going into kindergarten, but thankfully I have one more year before she leaves me all day/all week. She will attend Horizon preschool only on Thursdays and Fridays from 9am-11:45am. This is an excellent Christian preschool that we were blessed to be accepted into from the waiting list we were on.
Capri has been so excited to start school now that she is the BIG four years old! She is proud to tell EVERYONE that she is 4 years old and gets to go to school and chew gum! She recently had her school physical and shots (ouch!) and the doctor told us she is in the 93rd percentile for height. Wonder where she gets that from? Chloe is in the 92nd percentile. In case that is confusing it just means that she (Capri) is taller than 93% of children her age!
So back to the first day of school. Yesterday we went shopping to get Capri a new outfit and shoes for school. She got to pick it out all by herself! We packed her new princess backpack last night and she went fast asleep.
She woke up this morning at 6am and immediately wanted to get dressed in her new school outfit. Finally it was time to get ready and Chloe wanted to join in the fun so we got her dressed up and took her pictures too! We arrived at school a little early to turn in her paperwork and take some pictures. She was more than willing to say "bye mommy!" when it was time for her to join her class. I did okay, until Chloe started crying and screaming and reaching out for Capri as we were leaving. Chloe was NOT happy to leave her big sister there. Then that made me sad, thanks Chloe :) Capri waved and didn't shed a tear. She was very happy to be at school.
Chloe and I spent the morning running a couple errands and then headed to a nearby shopping mall to play. Chloe got to play in all the little water areas and kids play area. She had a lot of fun. I rarely get to spend time alone with Chloe so it was nice to be with her all by ourselves. I do admit that we both missed Capri though :) So we headed back to her school a little early (surprise surprise) and found her playing in the playground area with her class. I was able to "spy" on her before she saw me. When she did see me she ran over to say hello to us, but didn't realize I was there to pick her up so she said "bye mommy", waved, and went back to join her class. Too funny! She wanted to stay! She told me on the car ride home how much fun she had and how much she likes school.
I don't think it could have gone any better. It was a great day and we look forward to another day of preschool tomorrow. Oh, I take that back...it could have been better if I was a fly on the wall in her classroom :)
