Serious Regret
If you take a look at this picture, it may appear to be a cute little girl in her new toddler bed, happy as can be. However, what you're actually looking at is a terrible mistake that Tammy and I made.

In the good ol' days, we could drop Chloe into her crib and she would wiggle around and babble happily until she dozed off. But for some misguided reason Tammy and I decided to dismantle the crib (and sell it!) and replace it with a toddler bed.
Unfortunately, Chloe does not wiggle around and babble and then doze off as she did in the past. Instead, she gets up and cries at the door until one of us stays in the room with her, and then she wiggles around on her bed for up to an hour until she mercifully falls asleep and we can escape.
This has caused all sorts of trouble, and we're doing what we can to improve the situation. But in the meantime, maybe someone out there can learn from our unfortunate mistake.

While my daughter never had a problem transitioning from the crib to bed, I can advise you of one thing. Make sure no-one introduces the night light! :) My daughter blissfully went to bed when I shut off the lights and closed the door. Never a complaint.
But a brief sleepover at my mother-in-laws ended all that. She introduced the night light and leaving the door a good 6 inches open. I've got the door shut again now about 2 years later, but the light still has to be on. I've grumbled about it ever since. ;)
