I found out a couple days ago the results from my 3 hour glucose blood test. It turns out I have developed Gestational Diabetes with this pregnancy. This is a pregnancy related diabetes that should go away after I give birth. They immediately put me on a very strict diet and I have to poke my finger to test my blood (glucose levels) 4 times a day. The hardest part so far has been the diet. I went through major sugar withdraws the first couple days...really bad headaches and nausea. Anyway, it's a small price to pay to make sure my baby stays healthy. If my blood sugar levels remain too high, it can be bad for my baby. They are trying to lower my levels first by diet and if that doesn't work they will have to give me insulin. I'm feeling better and trying to keep a positive attitude, knowing that God has a plan and He will protect me and my baby.
