Annual Yard Sale - Priced to Sell
Our neighborhood had its annual two-day yard sale where a lot of the local homes have a yard sale at the same time. The result is lots of foot traffic, and in our particular case, lots of junk priced to sell!
We had leftover junk from last year's yard sale. We had new junk we removed from our house this year. And we even had some of our friends' junk which they were hoping to get rid of before they move to Texas in a couple weeks.
We had almost no big-ticket items. Our highest sale was $30 for a jogger-stroller which we bought for $40 two years earlier at the annual yard sale. The vast majority of our items were $2 or less.
After two days of selling we made about $210, which was really great considering our real goal was to just get rid of all the junk. (In fact, whatever didn't sell we put beside the road with big "FREE" signs on it. It's almost all been picked up by now.)
One side benefit, besides the extra money, is our garage hasn't been so spacious in years. The spiders will be quite happy.
