Spring Has Sprung
Spring has sprung in San Diego and we've been busy around our house the last few weeks trying to keep up with all the growth. Usually our grass is barely alive but at this time of year it grows like crazy.
In years past, the weeds, wild spinach, and other oddities would keep our yard from being manageable, but I think we've finally turned the corner on the bad guys and green grass is the result. It's certainly not perfect, but Capri can run on it in her bare feet without any problems.
Tammy happily took it upon herself to massacre our old rose bush with a pair of clippers so we replaced it with some nightshade. I think it's an upgrade, even though the rose bush did bloom pretty regularly.
In the front yard one of our wisteria vines has finally bloomed. This is its third season and Tammy has always wanted it chopped down, but I'm hoping the flowers will redeem it.
We have some irises that have produced gorgeous purple flowers. The flowers are huge! We've also planted some other flowers here and there.
I don't want to give the impression that we live in a landscaper's paradise right next to the Garden of Eden. Really, we have a loooong way to go. The good news, though, is that we're making progress and having a lot of fun inching our way to a nicer yard.
