Playing Catch Up (or Mustard)
I can officially say that our windows are finished. It took much much longer than anticipated because first there was a delay in the order, then the guy ordered and began to install the wrong style windows(!). Tammy came out two weeks ago as the guy was installing and asked, "Do you add the grids in later?" And he said, "Grids? What grids? You didn't order grids!" But, of course, we had.
That led to a week's further delay and a nagging thought that maybe he would never return. But he did, and installed our windows in two days. Unfortunately, he chose not to clean up after himself outside. Glass shards were everywhere all around our home. The good thing was he left his shop-vac here and so I emailed and said, "Feel free to come by and pick up your shop-vac. And while you're at it, feel free to help clean up all the glass you left behind." So today he came back out and shoveled around. There's still plenty of glass out there, but he really did get a ton of it out. I'm willing to say that the job is finished now. Good riddance, and thanks for the awesome windows!
You can see some before and after shots of our home at our gallery. The windows really made an aesthetic difference, and they make a massive difference in keeping in the warmth/cold and keeping out the heat/cold, depending on what we need.
It was probably about 80 degrees today, and our house was all shut up tight. When I came home around 4pm it was nice and cool inside. Amazing!
